Why am I seeing this message?
If you see the message 'Domain name incorrect' when you view a Squarespace website then it is likely that the website is attempting to use an unauthorised copy of one of our Squarespace Extensions. For example, you may have duplicated the website with the extension installed, changed one of the domain names or the site upgraded to a new version of Squarespace.
Error Message
When you purchase a Squarespace Extension from us, you get a single copy of the software for use on a single website. Extensions are not transferable between websites and/or domains so, when you placed your order, you provided us with the domain names that you planned to use with your Squarespace website. To protect our rights, the extension is then locked to these domains. If the extension is used on a different domain, you will see this message.
How do I remove this message?
You can remove this message by removing the extension from the website. To do this, navigate to your site's domain name and add "/config/safe" to the domain name. For example, if your site's domain name is https://example.squarespace.com then you should navigate to the URL https://example.squarespace.com/config/safe to allow you to edit the code.
Once you are logged on to your website, navigate to the Code Injection panel and remove the unauthorised copy of the extensio script. This should be clearly labelled, but may be hundreds of lines of text. Take care not to remove other code.
Once you have saved the changes, the error should disappear.
How do I use the extension with another website/domain?
As explained above, extensions are not transferable between websites and/or domains. If you'd like to use one of our extensions on another site, please purchase another copy.
