In late 2025, Squarespace introduced a series of significant updates to how products and product forms work across the platform. These changes were applied automatically to live sites. As a result, some plugins that previously worked as expected may no longer behave correctly. In some cases, features may stop working or certain product data may no longer be passed through to form submissions.
This doesn’t mean your plugin is faulty. Rather, Squarespace has changed parts of the underlying platform, and the plugin may need to be upgraded for compatibility, to continue working as intended.
This article explains what to do next, depending on when you purchased your plugin.
What to do next (important)
Please check the specific guidance for the plugin you purchased. Details are shown further down this page.
Customers with a plugin subscription
If you have purchased a subscription product (rather than a one-time purchase) then no action is required. Subscribers receive plugin updates automatically, so your site should already be running the latest compatible version. If you’re experiencing an issue,
contact us for priority support.
What changed on Squarespace?
Squarespace is a hosted (SaaS) platform, which means they deploy technical changes in the background, without customers needing to upgrade or change versions. During this period, Squarespace changed how the platform handles products and forms. While most Squarespace updates do not affect third-party plugins, these particular changes did, and compatibility upgrades are required as a result.
Our approach to support and updates
We fully stand behind the quality of our plugins. If there’s ever a bug or fault in one of the plugins we currently sell, we’ll fix it - regardless of when it was purchased. Updates required solely because Squarespace has changed how the platform works aren’t included with one-time purchases.
To keep things fair and flexible:
-
customers without a subscription can purchase an upgrade when required, and
-
customers who want a hands-off approach can purchase a subscription, which keeps plugins updated automatically without needing to monitor platform changes

Squarespace made the decision not to update store pages on the older v7.0 platform, meaning that v7.0 websites are not benefitting from these new commerce improvements and will be left behind. Squarespace is now, quite understandably, focused on version 7.1. The two platforms have now diverged considerably in both structure and capability, and Squarespace will be actively encouraging remaining v7.0 users to
upgrade to v7.1. Because of this divergence, we no longer develop or test our plugins on Squarespace v7.0. All current and future plugin updates are built specifically for v7.1 sites.
If your site is still on Squarespace 7.0, we strongly recommend planning an upgrade to version 7.1 to ensure full compatibility with Squarespace’s current platform and ongoing access to new features and plugin updates.
Squarespace offer a free tool to help you upgrade from v7.0 to v7.1. If you are looking for independent advice, I was a test pilot for the upgrade tool before it was released, and I’ve published my own practical guide:
How to upgrade from Squarespace 7.0 to 7.1 in 2025.
