Plugin no longer working (September 2025)

Summary

If one of your plugins has stopped working correctly, please read through this support article.

Between 2 and 5 September 2025, Squarespace migrated all version 7.1 sites to a new store page structure. This Squarespace update (known as "Products V2") will ultimately improve performance, and lay the groundwork for new commerce features in the near future. However, the short term impact of this major change has been painful as the update was automatic and cannot be undone.

If you have any of our plugins installed on your Squarespace site that were written before 27 July 2025, the Squarespace migration will have broken them. The same is true of any custom code that was installed on your site (Code Injection and Custom CSS) before 27 July 2025. This document explains what changed, which plugins are affected, and what you need to do.

Squarespace 7.0

If you are using an older version of Squarespace (known as version 7.0) then your site will not be migrated to Products V2 and you will not benefit from the new commerce features as they are added. Squarespace development is now firmly focussed on Squarespace 7.1 so, from August 2025, we’re no longer able to offer any of our plugins for sites still using the older (version 7.0) platform.

If your site is still running on version 7.0, we strongly recommend upgrading to 7.1 to take advantage of new features and ensure continued compatibility with our plugins. Using Squarespace 7.1 guarantees that you have access to all of Squarespace’s newest website and ecommerce features. Squarespace offers a free tool to help you upgrade from v7.0 to v7.1 and, as a test pilot for the upgrade tool, I’ve published my own practical guide: How to upgrade from Squarespace 7.0 to 7.1 in 2025.

Thanks for your support

Although we support the long-term vision of this update, this rollout has been extremely challenging for developers and businesses alike, due to the lack of advance notice, the late-breaking changes and inaccuracies in the technical documentation.

We’re doing our best to respond quickly and professionally to these changes and to continue supporting our customers through this transition. I truly appreciate your support and patience during this unexpected transition.
