Wishlist - Button caption returns to "Add to Cart" after selecting variants (Squarespace update)
Summary
If you are using the Wishlist plugin and you purchased it before 27 July 2025 then you may find that the "Add to Wishlist" button (or whatever you named it) changes back to "Add to Cart" after a user selects a variant option, such as a different size or colour. This is due to a major Squarespace platform update known as "
Products V2 Update" that they are rolling out between 18 June and 30 August
2025. Background
Squarespace is making a significant behind-the-scenes update to its Store and Product pages. This update is designed to improve performance and lay the groundwork for new commerce features, but it is so significant that it breaks most existing custom code and plugins designed for Store and Product pages.
How to solve this issue
If you purchased the Wishlist plugin before 18 May 2025, and you did not purchase a support subscription at that time, you can upgrade to the latest version for a low one-off fee. See Wishlist Upgrade for details. This upgrade is available with or without professional installation.

Customers with a support subscription
Customers with a Wishlist support subscription, who provided us with access to their site, should not experience this issue unless they manually update to Products V2 before 30 August 2025 (not recommended).
We proactively update subscribers’ websites whenever updates are rolled out to reduce downtime. However, if you choose to manually update to Products V2 before the end of August, you will need to contact us to request a manual subscriber update.
